GGL was established in 2002 and is owned by the Green Gold Label Foundation. GGL is amongst the earliest biomass certification schemes. Certification against GGL is done by independent, accredited third party certification bodies. GGL certification covers the complete supply chain from production, processing, transport to final use for bioenergy and biobased applications. The scope includes woody, agri-residue and waste wood biomass, as well as bioliquids.

SLCP refers to Social & Labor Convergence Project, which uses a multi-stakeholder and inclusive organization and approach. Signatories include manufacturers, retailers and brands, agents and audit firms/service providers, as well as organizations in the public sector, standard holders, civil society organizations and multi-stakeholder organizations with an interest in converging assessments and improving labor and social conditions. E-union is an approved verification body for SLCP.
International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC)
The International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) is an international certification system covering all kinds of bio-based feedstocks and renewables catering to energy, food, feed, and chemicals sectors.The ISCC EU is the first and leading voluntary scheme based on the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED), covering the environmental and social aspects of biomass production. It is compatible with other RED schemes.ISCC certification enables delivery of products compliant with the sustainability criteria laid down by the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED).
The RPM Program offers Certification against best practice standards and is delivered by international, third party, and accredited Certification Bodies. Certification is an optional extra for ‘Engaged’ organizations. When chosen, it serves as a clear demonstration of compliance with the best practise RPM Standard or Zero Plastic to Landfill criteria and it communicates clearly to all interested parties that the organization is fully committed to managing the plastics under its control.
